MiniRoos Football
MiniRoos Football is a well structured system used by Football Australia to introduce kids of all abilities to Football. It uses game based sessions to introduce new comers to Football in an all inclusive way. By introducing kids to Football in this way, we ensure more touches on the ball, lots of fun and the opportunity to build life long friendships.
At Hills Spirit, The MiniRoos competition is run internally and involves a mixture of skill drills and small-sided games. There is no grading for the MiniRoos players or ranking of teams. Each team generally has 6 to 8 players who are arranged in teams based on friends, or previous team-mate requests made. We will also consider the school they attend and group into similar ages. The skills training sessions will be run on Tuesday nights, with the Hills Football Association coaches supporting the team coaches for the first 8 weeks. Games are held on Saturdays at the home ground (Arnold Ave Reserve) every week, commencing at 8:30am. A Meet and Greet day will be held in March 2024 at Arnold Ave Reserve and you will be advised of the date following registration. The Coordinator for the MiniRoos is Kate Angelini and Tammy Grillo on the Committee and they can be contacted directly on minirooshillsspiritfc@gmail.com. Parents will be required to assist from time to time in canteen duties as our club is run by volunteers and requires commitment and help from parents.
